From Denbigh to Benidorm

Denbigh To Benidorm Charity Drive

For the third time, Tony Adams, Daniel Rostron, Liam Clement and Luke Patterson are set to take on the Benidorm or Bust challenge to raise money for the charity Barnardo's. Barnardo's, was chosen by Tony Adams due to himself being a foster carer and personally knowing the amazing work Barnardo's do.

The theme and car has been planned for about 12 months now, and they bought the car last October and have been working on it ever since.

The car comes complete with Bubble machine and fully working drill on the front. (as well as other dastardly tricks).

The rally they are taking part in is called 'Benidorm or Bust' and this year there are 160 cars going The official rally starts in Dover on May 15th, however Team Wacky Races 'official' set off is from Denbigh, North Wales on the 14th May.

The rally last year in total raised over £150,000 - an incredible milestone which they are hoping to surpass this year.

First they will travel up to Manchester to pick the rest of the team, then they will make their way down to Dover to meet up with the other teams. Tuesday morning they will have a pre- rally brief then straight onto the ferry to Calais.

Then from Calais they will drive across France to Orleans for night number 2, then the following day moving on to Toulouse for night 3. The next stretch takes them over the Pyrenees through Andorra dropping down into Taragonna for night 4. The last stretch takes them into Benidorm, to the much anticipated finish line. Remember, unlike the Whacky Races TV show, this Rally is not a race, its a group event where they will all work together, to help each other and have a bit of fun along the way.

Previous years when they arrived in Benidorm they usually sell the car, but this year as they have spent some much time with the car, they are going to drive it back home where they will return on the 21st May, completing a 7 day round trip which makes this year's trip more interesting and intriguing than ever.
